The Strathalbyn Middle Campus has nine Year 7/8 vertically grouped classes and four Year 9 classes.
Its vision is to provide opportunities for all students to fulfil their educational potential, to develop the skills necessary to be active participants in society and to foster the notion of life-long learning in a safe and supportive learning environment.
Structures and methodologies at the Middle Campus meet the needs of young adolescents and support middle-schooling philosophies. Relationships between teachers and students are paramount and a learning environment exists that supports the learning of all students. Students are taught skills and processes that will be transferable throughout their lives. Students are taught thinking and learning skills along with traditional curriculum knowledge and processes. Skills and topics are integrated so that student can understand what they are learning and how that learning can be applied in different situations.
Successes are celebrated and an incentive scheme operates to help reinforce the culture of success that is fostered within the campus. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning and their actions.
