Students in the Reception to Year 6 year levels experience a wide range of learning activities covering all 8 areas of the curriculum as identified in the South Australian Curriculum Statement of Accountability Framework (SACSA). Methodologies appropriate to the developmental stages of learning that students progress through are employed by teachers. Specialist teaching in the areas of LOTE Indonesian, Visual Arts and Music are currently offered. Literacy, Numeracy, communication, thinking and social learning skills are developed throughout the student centred curriculum.
Students in the Middle Years (7-9) continue their work based upon the SACSA Framework and the 8 areas of the curriculum. Some subjects run for the whole year whilst others run for a semester (half year). They are taught by a combination of teachers, some of whom are specialists in middle schooling methodologies and some of whom are specialists in curriculum areas. Students benefit from the ability to use specialist facilities at the Year 7-12 site from Year 7 onwards. All Year 7/8 students study a set course, some choices are introduced at Year 9.
Students in Senior Years (10-12) have the opportunity to enrol in a wide range of subjects which cover the 8 major learning areas. These can be done through face to face teaching or through Distance Education for particular subjects not offered at the school. Enterprise and Vocational Education courses are also offered.
The full range of course offerings can be seen in curriculum pages in our website.
